Titia Klemmeier

Founder and CEO of IMIS

For more than eighteen years, Titia Klemmeier has dedicated her work to a simple but powerful conviction: every patient deserves the best possible inhalation care, and every healthcare professional deserves access to knowledge that is independent, evidence-based and free from commercial influence. From that conviction, she founded IMIS, the Inhalation Medication Instruction School, which has grown into the Netherlands' leading independent knowledge centre for inhalation technique and inhalation medication instruction.

What started as an educational initiative has evolved into a national platform that safeguards the quality of inhalation care by bringing together science, clinical practice and healthcare professionals around one shared standard. Today, IMIS develops the protocols, training programmes and quality frameworks that enable nurses, physicians, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective and consistent inhalation care.

Titia has never believed that healthcare quality should depend on commercial interests or fragmented expertise. Her vision has always been to create an independent home for knowledge, a place where scientific evidence, practical experience and multidisciplinary collaboration come together in service of one purpose: helping patients breathe better. Under her leadership, IMIS has become far more than a training institute. It is the guardian of a national quality standard and a trusted partner for everyone committed to advancing inhalation care.

At the heart of her work lies the belief that true quality is not found in documents or guidelines alone, but in people who are willing to learn, collaborate and continuously improve. Through IMIS, Titia is building a future in which healthcare professionals speak the same language, work from the same evidence and share the same commitment to excellence.

Because for her, every breath matters.
